How Men Can Wear a Faux Fur Scarf

The scarf: one of our favorite fall accessories. The days are getting colder and everywhere you turn you’ll see scarves worn in every style imaginable. As men of style, I’m sure you have an arsenal of scarves to wear this fall and winter. And I hope one of those scarves is a faux fur scarf. If you don’t have one...get one!

Here are some tips on how to wear a faux fur scarf:

1. Wear a Faux Fur Scarf with a Suit

The faux fur scarf is a statement piece that adds instant luxury to your look, so if you need to be eased into wearing a faux fur scarf, go with a solid-colored scarf and keep your suit and accessories simple.

I’ve always been a fan of 1920’s fashion. Here is my mobster-style chic outfit wearing a faux fur scarf with a suit.

Finish off your outfit with a wool hat from H&M and you’ll have people guessing, "Is he going to a swanky dinner downtown?" or "Is he off to an alleyway speakeasy for some shenanigans?"

2. Skip the Shirt and Tie

I enjoy the challenge of putting an effortless look together. You can still wear faux fur for a casual look. I skipped the shirt and tie and instead threw on a v-neck tee with a more standout faux fur scarf. Throw on your warmest blazer, wool hat and shades and you're ready for Sunday brunch.

3. How to Tie a Faux Fur Scarf

Now, forget what you saw in the video because a faux fur scarf isn’t your ordinary scarf! There is no need to tie a faux fur scarf, these scarves are really thick and you don’t want to look like you have an actual animal around your neck.

Go with an 'infinity' faux fur scarf (that’s a circular scarf that doesn’t have an end, it’s like a collar). It's easy to throw on and it gives you a clean and classic look. Or wear a regular length faux fur scarf and simply place one end of the scarf over the other and button up your suit jacket. The buttoned up suit jacket will keep your scarf in place.

So there you have it. Make a grand entrance on your next chilly night out with a faux fur scarf. You’ll be sure to turn heads.
