3 New Spring Hairstyles to Try

Spring has sprung and we begin our wardrobe transition for the warmer season. This is also the perfect time to try a new fresh haircut! So give your tired ol' haircut a break and try one of these three new spring hairstyles that will keep you looking and feeling fresh for the spring and into the summer!

From a taper fade, low fade, high fade to even how to get your hair texturized to get these looks, read along and I'll show what to ask your barber on your next visit to the barbershop.

1. Clean Cut Bedhead

A lot of guys are already rocking this type of hairstyle so what we’re doing for the spring is tweaking the traditional bedhead hairstyle for the warmer weather.

Take a look at the always classic gent, Brad Pitt

The clean cut bedhead has a cleaner and more put together look than your traditional bedhead by keeping the sides of your hair shorter. The top of your hair still keeps that messy bedhead look. The best part about this haircut is you have the option of keeping the bedhead look or going with a clean cut cut by simply styling your hair with pomade. And since the sides are shorter, you’ll have a more put together look.

How to get the look: Ask your barber for a mid to high fade with a 1 guard. Get a scissor cut for the hair on top and make sure to get your hair 'texturized'. Texturizing your hair helps enhance the look of your bedhead. Grooming pastes, clays and shaping creams work best for this hairstyle.

2. Faded Buzz Cut

The buzz cut is back! But with a cool spring twist… We’re adding a cool fade to the classic buzz cut

A guy that knows how to sport a faded buzz cut with confidence is Zayn Malik.

This haircut isn’t for everyone. You definitely want to make sure you have a well rounded head shape. C’mon, be honest with yourself. For example, this haircut would look terrible on me because I have a weird shaped head. Almost like a conehead. But that’s ok… Because long hair looks better on me.

How to get the look: Ask for a 1 or 2 on the top. Get a 0 or ½ fade on the sides. Avoid going to short like a bald or razor fade because then you’re entering “cholo” haircut territory.

3, Relaxed Pompadour

Like I said in the beginning, most of you guys are already rocking these types of haircuts. The relaxed pompadour is pretty straight forward. You go about getting a pompadour just as you normally do.

Here we have Colin Farrell with great example of what a traditional pompadour looks like but with a relaxed look (hence the name, “ relaxed pompadour”).

How to get the look: Ask for a taper fade with a 1 or 2 guard. Leave the front of your hair/bangs longer than the rest of your hair. The key to achieving a relaxed pomp is the type of hair product to use. Don’t use pomade! Using pomade will weigh your hair down and also melt during the hot weather. Instead, use a lighter fiber, shaping cream or a clay.
